    Lander Senior Babe Ruth will represent Wyoming in Canada

    Lander Senior Babe Ruth has qualified to represent Wyoming in the Pacific Northwest Baseball Tournament after finishing second in their state tournament.

    The Lander squad knocked off Casper 10-0 last Friday, then played Worland and a Gillette team on Saturday, winning 3-2 and 17-0 respectively. Lander then knocked off a different Gillette squad 10-8, which qualified them for the championship game against Newcastle. Lander came up just short 5-4 against the Newcastle squad, who will also attend the regional tournament.

    The team is made up of Ridge Barrett, Justin Bever, Kolby Cachelin, Mason Cronk, John Fawson, Donte Hauberman, Jace LeClair, Tyler Massey, Eli Mazurie, Paxton Rees, Peyton Rees, Dominic Susanka, Jack Sweeney, and Lorenzo Vierra. The club is coached by Ernie Vierra and David Rees, and managed by Mike Antonovich.

    The regional tournament in Calgary will be held on July 15-21. The team will do a variety of fundraisers to help pay for the trek north of the border. If you’d like to help out, contact Mike at 307-680-5591.
