    Lander Rural Fire receives new fire tanker

    (Lander, WY) – Lander Rural Fire recently received a Pierce Kenworth Fire Tanker that officially went into service in November 2020. This new apparatus was supplied by the Fremont County Fire Protection District (FCFPD) to help provide the highest-quality fire, emergency, and other community-related services to the residents and visitors of Fremont County.

    “This truck has a tank size of 2,000 gallons, which is essential to providing adequate water supply to the rural community especially those in remote locations,” Lander Rural Fire (FCFPD Battalion 3) shared. It also has a Husky 3 Foam System and a Paccar engine that can provide a continuous 1,250 gallons per minute of water flow.

    Along with providing support, FCFPD has the massive undertaking of maintaining 15 fire halls, outfitting 13 fire battalions with continuously-serviced equipment and apparatuses, providing high-quality personal protective equipment to each and every volunteer, and suppling extensive fire training across the district.
