Lander Rural Fire Department responded to 6 calls in last 3 days, including 10 acre fire at Ray Lake

    (Lander, WY ) – The Lander Rural Fire Department (LRFD) has responded to six calls in the last three days, according to LRFD Battalion 3 Chief Trenton Jones.

    Jones shared that one fire resulted in the total loss of a structure, another resulted in a shed being completely burned down, and another a reported grass/brush fire on the south side of Ray Lake grew to 10.4 acres Sunday evening.

    Lander Rural, Fort Washakie, Lander City and BIA Forestry all responded to the call, according to Jones.


    “We’re asking the public to be cautious due to critical fire dangers,” Jones added.

    All reported fires are currently under investigation.
