    Lander Police investigating more auto burglaries; Asking motorists to lock vehicles

    The Lander Police Department has reported several vehicles being burglarized and vehicle thefts over the last several days.

    On June 26th, 8 different reports were given about vehicle burglaries and one theft. More reports since that time have been reported by LPD.

    Law enforcement is also reporting that all of the vehicles involved in these recent crimes were unlocked. They urge citizens to lock vehicles at night, and when possible take valuables inside with them.

    LPD released the following message Monday morning,

    For the past 2 weeks, there have been numerous reports of vehicles being burglarized and/or even stolen in our community. All of the vehicles were unlocked at the time of the burglaries. The Lander Police Department urges the community of Lander and its visitors to please remove all valuables from the vehicle and please remember to lock your vehicle. At this time, the police department does not have any known suspects. If anyone has information regarding the burglaries or stolen vehicles, please contact Detective Trenton Maus at (307) 332-3401 x5.
