    Lander Police Department suspending minor calls for service under “Level 2” COVID-19 procedures

    The Lander, Wyoming Police Department has announced they are following the guidelines of the City of Lander’s Level 2 status after the first case of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) was confirmed in Fremont County Friday night.

    COVID-19 PRESS RELEASE #2 – At this time, the Lander Police Department is in LEVEL 2 status due to recent concerns with the COVID-19 virus. With this action, please be aware, the front lobby door to the Police Department will be locked and there will be phone numbers posted on the door for Administration and Dispatch. During this LEVEL 2 status, the Lander Police Department would prefer a police report be made via telephone in lieu of in person. IF you are needing to make a police report in person, you will be contacted and escorted out to the LPD Mobile Command trailer on the west side of the building. Prior to any physical contact, be prepared to tell the dispatcher and officer if you are sick, have recently been sick, recently visited another country or recently visited any other affected state. The greatest mode of transmission of this virus is through physical contact.

    During the LEVEL 2 status, effective immediately until further notice, the Lander Police Department will be suspending minor calls for service, such as, but not limited to; VIN Inspections, Dog at Large calls, other animal related calls and other minor calls for service.

    If you need an officer to respond to your house, again, be prepared to tell the dispatcher and officer if you are sick, have recently been sick, recently visited another country or recently visited any other affected state. Our officers will be donning personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect themselves if they respond to your residence.
