Lander Police Department moves to Tier 3 Response

At the recommendation of the Fremont County Public Health Office, the Lander Police Department will be implementing our TIER 3 Response.

To be clear, the Lander Police Department and the City of Lander have different TIER/LEVEL responses. The Lander Police Department’s raise to our TIER 3 response is a precautionary effort to better protect our officers and the community we serve.

    Effective immediately:

LPD will still respond to all emergencies and if you have an emergency dial 9-1-1. If you have a non-emergent call for service, initial reports will need to be made via telephone (on a case-by-case basis). For non-emergent calls for service, please dial 332-3131. Be prepared to tell the dispatcher and officer if you, or anyone in your household, are sick, have recently been sick, recently visited another country or recently visited any other affected state.

If an officer needs to respond to your residence, the officer will be donning personal protective equipment (PPE); eyewear, a mask and nitrile gloves at the very least. Don’t be alarmed, it is for our officers and your family’s safety.

BUSINESS OWNERS: If your business is closed due to the COVID-19 crisis, you may request an extra patrol of your business, both daytime and nighttime patrols. If you would like this service, please call the Administration Office at 332-3401.
