Lander McDonald’s Begins Major Remodel
(Lander, WY) – Residents may have noticed some new construction taking place at the McDonald’s location in Lander. The store is currently open with no interruptions to regular business anticipated.
The construction taking place in the parking lot is only the first wave of a larger remodel project that will leave the Lander location with more ADA accessible areas, a new exterior, and an update to the interior that will give guests a fresh, contemporary experience.
Crews are currently working on-site to complete adjustments to the parking lot and patio. Upon completion, the store will have a larger ADA accessible entrance and the patio will also feature ADA accessibility. So far, crews have filled potholes that littered some high-traffic areas of the parking lot and have begun installation of valley pans throughout the parking lot to better manage water flow.
Owner/Operator, Bob Luck, of the Lander McDonald’s location told County 10 that challenges to updating the ADA compliance of the location have been presented due to the natural incline that is inherent to the store property. Overhaul of the parking lot and ADA accessibility is expected to take around two weeks.
Upon completion of the parking lot, crews will begin to work on both the exterior and interior of the building, giving the store a new face, which is expected to resemble McDonald’s location in Riverton. Mr. Luck stated that the interior renovation of the store will include installation of Self-Order kiosks for customers who wish to avoid placing an order at the counter.
According to Mr. Luck, the remodel has been in planning since 2012, but due to statewide economic challenges and more immediate priorities regarding store remodels, the Lander remodel was put on the back-burner.
Interior and exterior construction are expected to begin Monday, July 10, 2017, with no store closures or interruptions to regular business anticipated at this time.
