Lander man charged with child abuse for Utah group home incident

According to Utah’s Deseret News, a 38-year-old Lander man has been charged with child abuse, a class B misdemeanor in Weber County Court this week.

Allan David Falls was serving as the director of a group home in Ogden.

On January 26th a 16-year-old boy was in the dining room of the group home arguing with another boy over rap music.

According to the court documents, Falls told the boys to stop arguing, when the 16-year-old replied, “shut up” and that he could, “do what he wanted.”

After a verbal argument, Falls pushed the teen off the chair he was sitting on. At that point, court documents suggest the boy began to walk away, but in doing so, threw a spoon over his shoulder at Falls. Falls then grabbed the boy from behind, put him in a headlock, and held him onto the ground for about one minute. The boy received minor scratches.

Deseret News reported that Falls had been the director since 2015.
