    Lander Community Pig Roast selling raffle tickets for a half hog; volunteers still needed

    (Lander, WY) – The 1st Annual Lander Community Pig Roast, which will take place in Lander City Park on September 18th, at 1:00 PM, is currently selling raffle tickets for a half hog, and also in need of volunteers.

    Tickets for the raffle are $5 each, or $20 for five tickets, and can be purchased at the following locations: Lander City Hall, Central Bank and Trust, the Elks Club, Lander VFW Post 954 & Auxiliary, Meridian Trust and Tony’s Pizza.

    Any Riverton folks can pick up raffle tickets at the County 10 office, but you must be present at the event to claim your prize.

    Also, be on the lookout for ways to win raffle tickets from County 10 and JACK FM, starting next week.

    There will be two drawings at the event on September 18th, with each winner taking home a half hog, fully processed and wrapped.

    Signups are also available for the cornhole championship taking place at the roast.

    The winning team will be receiving a cash prize based upon entries, a custom cornhole board from Scott Robeson Custom Woodworking, their name on a plaque which will reside in city hall, and also all the glory of being the FIRST city champions.

    If you think you have what it takes to be the champion or if you just like to have a great time, sign up by contacting Gayle at 307-332-4730 from Central Bank and Trust, or at 307-349-3586. Entry fee is $10 per team.

    Any seasoned hog callers and impressionists are recommended to start practicing, because there will also be a Hog Calling/Impression Competition for both adults and children the day of the event. No prior signup necessary, and no entry fee.

    The fun filled free event will also include music, games, raffles, prizes, food, alcohol for purchase, face painting, scavenger hunts, pie booths and more.

    Volunteers will receive a free breakfast, staff shirt, and meals throughout the day.
