Lander boys and girls move on to state semi-finals

    (Casper, WY) – Both Lander Valley High School boys and girls basketball teams won their quarterfinal match-ups at the State 3A Tournament Wednesday and will advance to semi-final play tonight.

    The Lady Tigers would edge Newcastle 40-36 in a hard fought, defensive contest at Casper College. Megan Winfield led the Lady Tigers with 15 points.

    The Tiger boys took down Douglas 68-42 also from Casper College Wednesday afternoon. Lander was led by Brennon Stauffenberg with 19 points, Dillan Hereford added 18.


    LVHS’ ladies play at 6:00 p.m. in a semi-final against Douglas. The Lady Bearcats are a perfect 22-0 this season.

    The Tiger boys play at 9:00 p.m. against the west’s top seed, Worland Warriors.

    Both Lander games will be played in the Ford Wyoming Center (formerly Casper Events Center.)
