    July 13th Commissioners’ news report

(Lander, WY) – The Fremont County Commissioners convened on Tuesday, July 13th for a regular meeting.

In addition to a program update from Wellness Coordinator Penny Fahey, monthly reports were given by Sheriff Ryan Lee of the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, as well as Chief Deputy Coroner/Interim Coroner Erin Ivie of the Coroner’s Office.

Interviews for the recently vacated Coroner position were also held, resulting in somewhat of a controversy when frontrunner Erin Ivie wasn’t named as one of the three candidates by the Republican committee in charge of doing so.

The Commission requested more qualified candidates, but the Republican committee chose keep the applicant list as is. This resulted in a special meeting being scheduled, to be held Friday, July 16th, where Commissioners will be forced to choose from the originally interviewed candidates.

COUNTY WIC PROGRAM AND FREMONT COUNTY WAS APPROVED THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2022.
