    Job Corps – Seeking Energy Tech/Extraction Instructor – Riverton

    Wind River Job Corps is looking for an Energy Tech/Extraction Instructor to provide career technical training and basic direction to students in accordance with approved curricula. Working on a team of challenging and creative individuals you will work with other instructors to ensure the best skills and education are being offered to each and every student.

    Reports to the career technical training manager. Responsible for providing career technical training and basic direction to students in accordance with approved curricula and in compliance with Department of Labor (DOL) and Management & Training Corporation (MTC) directives.

    1. Provide students with quality career and technical training in a safe, clean and orderly environment that is well-maintained to support their career readiness for success.
    2. Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior,training, personal problems or study habits; coordinate with counselors and other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training.
    3. Develop and prepare lessons; recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.
    4. Participate in evaluation of student progress (ESP); establish quality goals for students during each evaluation period.
    5. Maintain student accountability by documenting class attendance (class periods) dailly.
    6. Maintain and monitor progress and attendance reports; frequently update individual student progress on training achievement records (TARS).
    7. Control use of equipment and supplies; make minor repairs; recommend purchases.
    8. As applicable, assist in the planning and implementation of CTST projects; provide supervision of students assigned to CTST projects or other center career and technical training projects.
    9. Provide student with experiences and practices to help them meet each of the eight career success standards.
    10. Assist in developing community linkages and work-based learning (WBL) sites for the career and technical training department.
    11. Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
    12. Provide positive, quality customer service to students, staff and other center customers.
    13. Ensure students learn and practice set behavioral expectations that support employability and social development for career readiness success.
    14. Support, promote and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
    15. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
    16. Maintain accountability of staff, students and property; adhere to safety practices; attend all required training.

    Education and Experience
    Must have three to five years industry experience. Certified, licensed, or accredited in the state, or accredited by a professional trade organization. Experience working with youth, excellent written and verbal communications and computer proficiency required. Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
