    January 18th Commissioner meeting recap

    (Fremont County, WY) – The Fremont County Commissioners met yesterday, January 18th for their regular meeting. Below is the meeting recap.

    It was approved that the 2021 Bobcat S76 purchase, approved last week, would be paid for with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding.

    The upcoming CDL changes, which take effect on February 7th, have raised concerns for the Commissioners in regard to the Transportation Department. Superintendent Billy Meeks has been tasked with coming up with a plan for these changes. This discussion has been pushed to February 1st.

    A proposal to merge the Museum of American West and Pioneer Museum was given to the Commissioners. It was decided that further discussion and a review of financials with both museum boards and the director is warranted before any action is taken. They plan to meet with them at the Feb 8th meeting.

    A memorandum of understanding between Fremont County Government and the City of Lander was approved to provide $100,000 funding to the County for ground ambulance service for FY 2021-22, pending final approval by the City.

    A State of Wyoming Board of Land Commissioners Easement No. 8601 post-construction report for the Heritage Trail relocation was approved.

    A State of Wyoming Board of Land Commissioners Easement No. 9526 post-construction report for the Moneta/Lysite Road improvement shoulder widening and scope grading project was approved.

    The board accepted a letter of resignation from Michael Zirbel from the Fremont County Museum Board.

    Resolution No. 2022-04 “FY 2021-2022 Budget Amendment No. 3” was approved for budget transfers.
