    It’s Winter Fair time ~ jam-packed with fun for the whole family

    The first weekend, Jan. 31 and Feb 1 brings back the big Trade Show ~ located at the Lander Community CenterThis year’s show features vendors from all over Wyoming ~ highlighting all that is wonderful about Wyoming. On Friday doors are open from 2 to 8 pm. On Saturday doors are open from 10 am to 8 pm. Great food is back ~ featuring great food and drinks from Winter Fair favorites.

    Join us Friday evening at 5 pm as Mayor Monte Richardson welcomes attendees to the Winter Fair. Immediately following will be the crowning of the 2020 Snowball Prince and Princess. The Winter Fair Royalty is open to all Wyoming boys and girls aged 4 to 8 years old. The Prince and Princess will represent the Winter Fair during all 2020 events as well as at local parades throughout the year. Royalty applications can be found on the Fair website at www.wyomingstatewinterfair.org.

    Great music is on-hand for Friday evening. Keith Lawton’s What Band? delivers fun and new one-man-band experience sure to entertain the whole family. Wyoming Game and Fish’s own Jupiter the Owl will give attendees information on the Owls of Wyoming as well as an up-close look at this magnificent bird of prey. Renowned Flutist, Andy Vasquez will perform traditional Native American music. And, award-winning, local fingerstyle guitarist, Rob Weimann will perform to close the day.

    Saturday’s entertainment lineup includes Comedy Hypnotist, James Dayley. Bring your friends and family and watch them do things you never thought they would do ~ volunteers will be taken from the audience. We are excited to have a local favorite, Chris Flom performs again this year. Chris is well-known in the area and is always amazing to watch. All the way from Casper, WY, the Wyoming Fiddler’s Association, District 4, will present numerous artists performing traditional and upbeat fiddle favorites. And what would the Winter Fair be without the exceptional talent of the Native American Hoop Dancers. Rounding out the day will be Award Winning, the local star, Kerry Wallace – performing her special blend of real country music.

    The 2nd weekend features the animal and livestock events including No Losers … Only Wieners wiener dog races, all-day family fun with the Junior Rodeo featuring sleigh rides, roping, and horseshoeing clinic, live animals, pole bending and barrel racing, and mini bull riding competition. The Winter Fair Horse Show closes out the Fair on Sunday, Feb. 9th.
