Did you know that car crashes are the leading cause of death
in children ages 3-14 in the United States?
According to Saferide4kids.com, 723 children ages 12 and under died in 2016 due to vehicular crashes with 128,000 children injured. 35% of those children were not restrained at all.
What can YOU do to help prevent children’s deaths?
Make sure your car seat is installed properly. Statistics show that in between 72% and 84% of all child restraints are misused. There are a number of factors that go into correct installation and use of a car seat. These include but are not limited to: proper weight and height limitations on the car seat, car seat expiration, secure installation, proper positioning of the car seat or booster, and more.
If you are uncertain as to whether your child’s car seat is installed correctly, ask a professional. At Injury Prevention Resources, we will check your Car Seat Inspections by appointment, free of charge! You can call us at 307-856-2821 ext 15 to schedule an inspection or installation.
We also occasionally hold Car Seat Inspection Stations that are open to the public, free of charge. In these instances, you do not need an appointment. Just show up and we will have technicians available to inspect your car seat for you.
