With just over a week of preparation before the big Thanksgiving feast, Zippia has released data on all 50 state’s favorite side dishes.
The data collected uses metrics from internet recipe searches and ingredient purchases.
The nation’s favorite side dish is mashed potatoes, with macaroni and cheese a close runner-up. Wyoming’s favorite left us with some questions, however.

BROWN GRAVY
So the County 10 team has been debating – can gravy be considered a side dish or is our favorite dish really mashed potatoes and gravy?
Colorado and Montana agreed with the national trend of mashed potatoes as the best side. Nebraska and Idaho went with green bean casserole, South Dakota picked crescent rolls, and Utah went with standard rolls.
