In July, County 10 shared the Shoshoni Police Department (SPD) received over $200,000 from the Department of Justice COPS Hiring Program to expand their department and better serve the community.
With this grant funding, they were able to take over the Shoshoni School Resource Officer role, easing some financial burden on the district, and hire one additional full-time officer.
The team of three is now officially serving the Town of Shoshoni in some spiffy new patrol vehicles.
SPD Chief Chris Konija is excited to have a full team that can better serve the community and be more involved.
Give them a wave when you see them or maybe even propose a friendly game of basketball.
