Thursday afternoon update: I-80 has reopened.
(Cheyenne, WY) – The Wyoming Department of Transportation has closed Interstate 80 between Cheyenne and Rawlins as of 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning. Currently, there is a 6-8 hour reopening estimated timetable.

WYDOT District 1 in southeast Wyoming shared the following information Thursday morning;
Crews are out working to open the roads. The rain/snow mixture that fell overnight has created an ice rink on I-80. Photo was taken of a crash this morning at MM 238 east of Walcott Junction where the driver lost control on the icy roads. Make sure to take your time, buckle up, and reduce speed when necessary once the roads reopen.
