    Theresa Lorraine Engavo

    Theresa passed away on the evening of June 22, 2021, peacefully at home surrounded by family.

    She was born August 13, 1952 in Fort Washakie, Wyoming to Joseph Engavo Sr. (Billie) and Melissa Compton Olivas (Fermin). She was the third of seven children born to the union of Joseph and Melissa. She attended schools in Ethete, Wyoming, Laramie, Wyoming and Tallahassee, Florida.

    She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a firm believer in Christ. She also believed in the religious ceremonies of Sundance’s and supported and helped her sons and grandsons who participated. She was a loving and caring person and would make friends wherever she would be, her lifelong friend/sister Lucie Washakie described her as having a beautiful forgiving heart and a wonderful Aura that will be greatly missed.

    Theresa worked as a cook at Morning Star Manor, was an employee at a laundromat in Lander, Wy. and a home maker who dedicated her life in helping care for her grandchildren and family members.

    She is proceeded in death by her father Joseph Engavo Sr., step mother Billie Engavo, mother Melissa C. Olivas and stepfather Fermin Olivas as well as her brothers Joseph Engavo Jr., Harry Engavo and Benjamin Engavo. Grandparents: Hazel and Harry Engavo and Eunice and Thomas Compton. Uncles: Tony Engavo and Sam Engavo. Aunt: Mattie Meeks. Nephew: George Bercier Jr., Niece: Veronica Engavo. Grandchildren: Brittany Engavo, Joshua Dewey, and Donovan Blackburn.

    She is survived by her five children, Luke Engavo of Fort Washakie, Jerry Adcock of New Hampshire, Melissa Bercier Pine of Fort Washakie, Skeeter Engavo of Fort Washakie, Destiny Engavo of Seattle, WA., Kara Engavo of Riverton, WY, Sister Vicki Engavo of Fort Washakie, Eunice Engavo of Seattle, WA, Edith Woodley (Randy) of Yamhill, OR, brothers, Eric Engavo of Fort Washakie and Jonathon Engavo (Linda) of Riverton, WY, 36 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also, numerous relatives in Idaho, Utah, and Montana. She also accepted her Stepson Alex Bercier as her own.

    Services will be conducted by Butch Devinney on Wednesday, June 30th at 11am at 723 Sond-So-Neep Drive in Fort Washakie, Wy. The wake will be held the evening of Tuesday, June 29th at 6:30pm at 723 Sond-So-Neep Drive in Fort Washakie. Burial will be at the Engavo Family Cemetery North of Fort Washakie following the services. Feast and giveaway to follow.
