In loving memory, Maria Irma Holguin

Maria Irma Holguin departed this earthly life and went home to be with Jesus, on Sunday, August 8, 2021. She was born in Pharr, TX to Jose Isabel Sifentues and Herlinda Sifuentes. Growing up, Irma worked diligently alongside her parents who founded Way of the Cross Church in Riverton, WY. She served in their ministry through song and prayer. For the majority of her life, she lived in Riverton where she raised her family and served faithfully in the church. She’ll be remembered for her unwavering love for her Jesus; her prayer warrior’s heart; her yearly phone calls, anniversary, and birthday cards to her family and friends where she’d remind us to keep our eyes on Jesus; give him first place in our life, that he’s coming soon and we need to be ready. She’d close every card with the word Agape and two scriptures Matt 6:33 and Mark 12:30-31.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Maria Luisa Martinez; and three brothers, Fernando Valdez, Antonio Valdez, and Joe L. Sifentues. Irma is survived by her seven children (she didn’t believe in “in-laws”)  Nelson and Holly Valerio, Tanis and Michelle Holguin, Rumaldo Holguin, Gavyn and Omega Thompson, 10 grandchildren, six siblings, and many, many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date at her home church, Way of the Cross; Burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
