    IN LOVING MEMORY

    Irene Ardith Glandt
    June 9, 1925-October 8, 2020

Irene Ardith Glandt passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of October 8th, in Lander Wyoming.

Irene was born in Manville, Wyoming in 1925, the youngest of five children she grew up in the Manville Train Depot her family ran while her father was the Engine Watchman for the railroad. She attended and graduated school in Manville and was voted prom queen, but was too shy to go up on stage and accept the title. (something she always regretted)

Irene married her high school sweetheart, Woodrow Glandt, in May of 1944 at Oceanside, California 2 days before he shipped out with the Marine Corps in WWII. Both of their families moved to Lander during this time where she waited for Woody’s return and his many letters. She also found her first job at Baldwin’s store and had many a story of interesting customers. After the war, the couple settled in Fremont County, and adopted their first child Bob in 1954, and later a daughter Debbi, in 1960. While she spent much of her life as a homemaker she also worked many hours alongside her husband Woody, at the Texaco Bulk Plant they owned and operated.

Irene loved to read, birdwatch, cook, and travel. She and Woody became snowbirds in their retired years, spending winters at their little home away from home in Yuma, Arizona. Picking grapefruit, watching for road runners, making trips down to Mexico, and playing cards with their many friends. Anyone who met Irene knew the kindness of her heart and the sweetness of her sugar cookies. She was loved and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her son, Bob Glandt (Kara) and daughter, Debbi Miller (Mark), grandchildren Tawna, Aubry, Ginger, Heidi, Anthony, many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces along with many others who also became family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Pearl, her brothers, Kenneth, Lloyd, and Clyde and sister Edna, and her husband of 72 years, Woody Glandt.

A service is planned for a later date, cremation has taken place.

    Paid for by the Family
