(Riverton, Wyo.) – The Hertz Rental Car counter is now open full-time at Riverton Regional Airport. Public Works Director and Airport Manager Kyle Butterfield told the city’s Airport Board Friday that Hertz Corporate has signed a a lease for the space and that it’s now staffed and open for business.
The airport terminal had been without a rental car agency since the former car rental contractor closed two months ago. Rental cars were still available at the airport, though, as Jim’s Aircraft Service added a number of rental vehicles to his fleet.
“This is a huge step forward,” Butterfield to the board. “It required a lot of patience on the city’s part to get the lease, we’ve been working on it for over a year. We’re happy to see them operating and more ground transportation available.”
The new Hertz counter will be open to meet every flight into Riverton. Regular hours for the car rental agency are Monday-Friday from 8-5 and Sunday from 9-12, closed Saturday.
Butterfield also said he had heard back from the General Services Administration on the move of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) offices from a former rental car office to where Great Lakes Airlines had its office behind the ticket counters. “They approved the move,” he said. “Once that happens we’ll have another ground transportation option available inside the terminal.
In prior years, the terminal hosted both Hertz and Avis rental counters, but Avis left the airport when Great Lakes was having reliability issues. The airport is now served by Denver Air Connection with daily non-stop flights to Denver and one daily flight to Sheridan.
In Europe, car rental is big business, with millions vacationing in the continent each year. Those travelling to the Greek island of Crete may want to keep in mind Mietwagen Kreta for their car rental there. With a wide range of vehicle and the flexibility to drop them off at convenient locations, this car hire service should definitely be a strong consideration.
