#HeadsUp: West River Road/South Flat Road asphalt rejuvenator treatments scheduled Aug. 9-10

This #headsup is brought to you by Bailey’s Tire and Auto Service.

According to a release issued by the Wyoming Department of Transportation, placement of oil rejuvenators is scheduled on two state highways in Washakie County.

Rejuvenator oil treatments are scheduled on WY-432 (South Flat Road) on Aug. 9, with Aug. 10 work scheduled on West River Road.

“We’re asking people to slow down and avoid running or bicycling on these treated highways for 24 hours,” said WYDOT fog sealing foreman Tyd Erickson of Meeteetse. “All work is dependent upon favorable weather.”

WYDOT’s summer chip-sealing maintenance work, which includes fog sealing and rejuvenator treatments, is one of the most cost-effective ways used to maintain highways in Wyoming.

The rejuvenator treatments use quick-drying oil to seal highways from moisture, and another benefit is that winter snow and ice melts quicker on darker-colored roadways.
