#HeadsUp: Thermopolis Police Department cautions Wind River Canyon drivers of falling rocks

    (Wind River Canyon, WY) – Due to wet conditions and falling rocks, the Thermopolis Police Department is advising drivers to use caution while traveling through Wind River Canyon today, May 21.

    The above photo was taken of rocks that fell this morning, a little before 9:00 AM.

    Scanner traffic at the time heard by County 10 indicated the debris was cleared from the road relatively quickly, with no long-lasting or current road obstructions.

    WYDOT currently has US 20 / WY 789 between Thermopolis and Boysen Dam (Wind River Canyon) under a falling rock advisory, and lists road conditions as “wet with rain.”
