    Hubbard Squash

Hubbard squash is one of the tasty (and somewhat interesting) things that you’ll find at this week’s farmers’ market. This winter squash usually has a tear-drop shape and a bluish-gray skin.

This squash can be baked or made into soup or pie. It’s meaty, like a butternut or buttercup squash and can be baked in the oven whole if it has been poked to let the steam escape. The seeds can then be removed, salted and baked. Another option is to cut it open, take the seeds out and then bake it.

    Harvest Party

The Lander Valley Farmers Market’s 2021 Harvest Party takes place on Saturday, Sept. 18. This fun day includes local food, fun activities and live music from Pushroot. For more information, please see the flyer.
