    Gun drawn in altercation between two men in a Lander restaurant; One man arrested

    Lander Police were called to a restaurant in the 900 block of West Main Street Tuesday at 2:57 p.m.

    A caller inside of the restaurant explained that two men were fighting, one man pulled a gun, then fled the scene.

    According to an LPD media release, the suspect, later identified as 37-year-old John (Jimmy) Applegate, entered the restaurant with a baseball bat and confronted another man. A verbal argument broke out.

    The man who was confronted, was armed with a gun, and pulled it out of a holster. He then ordered Applegate to leave the restaurant.

    The two men apparently had taken their argument outside, as LPD describes that when John got into his vehicle, he attempted to run the victim over, but was not succesful.

    The suspect was located and arrested 8 blocks away from the restaurant. He was charged with aggravated assault, reckless driving, and trespassing.

    The Lander Police Department said there were no injuries from the fight, the gun did not fire and there were no blows from the baseball bat.
