Group will attempt to block Wyoming’s latest gas drilling project

In August, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management approved the Normally Pressured Lance project.

The project would potentially consist of 3,500 natural gas wells in the Upper Green River Basin area.

The wells would be drilled throughout an area of 220 square miles.

According to the Casper Star Tribune, the project could create up to 1,000 jobs and $17 billion in revenue.

The project is being met with some negative reaction, however.

One group, vocally speaking out against the project is WildEarth Guardians.

Representatives for WildEarth has created a petition suggesting that the project would violation air pollution laws. The petition has been submitted to the U.S. Interior Department.
