(Wind River Reservation, WY) – Zach Kennah recently self-published his first graphic novel titled Crowheart Butte which is based on the Shoshone legend of the Nimerigar.
His story and illustrations follow the day-to-day of a middle school basketball team from Fort Washakie who eventually cross paths with these small-beings.
Zach spent the majority of his childhood in Green River and graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2014 with a bachelor of fine arts degree. He now resides in L.A. where he pursues a career in the arts which includes film.
Zach’s father, who grew up in Fort Washakie, shared Shoshone history and stories with him. This is where he learned about the Nimerigar and served as part of the inspiration for the graphic novel.
