Grant secured to help open store that sells locally-produced foods

(Riverton, WY) – The grassroots effort to open a brick-and-mortar grocery store that sells locally produced foods year-round is moving forward after recently receiving a USDA grant in conjunction with Central Wyoming College and the Wind River Food Sovereignty Project.

Volunteer group Fremont Local Foods, which has been spearheading the store effort, has worked for over a year to make this happen and this funding will finally help get it off the ground.

Right now they are considering potential locations and business models for the store. The funds will also allow leeway to hire a full-time person to run the operation.
