    Graduation rates over 90% at 3 Fremont County districts

    (Fremont County, WY) – The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) announced today, January 26th that 3 Fremont County School Districts (FCSD) had graduation rates over 90% for the 2019-20 school year.

    FCSD #1 (90.8%), #2 (90.9%) and #24 (93.5%) are among the top 18 Wyoming school districts above 90%. District #24 was also in the top schools for the 2018-19 year.

    High school graduation rates across the Cowboy State increased to 82.3% in 2019-20, marking the seventh consecutive year of improvement from the class of 2013, where 77.6% of students graduated.

    Since the 2009-10 school year, the WDE has calculated graduation rates using the Federal Four-Year Adjusted Cohort Methodology established by the U.S. Department of Education, complying with federal law that requires all states to calculate graduation rates the same way. Students are counted in the four-year, “on-time,” high school graduation rate if they earn a diploma by September 15 following their cohort’s fourth year. Five- and six-year graduation rates are also calculated, and can be viewed with the rest of the graduation rate data.
