Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon announced publicly Friday evening that he is, “condemning the aerial gunning of mountain goats in Grand Teton National Park.“
On Friday, the National Park Service began operations to lethally remove mountain goats from areas of Grand Teton National Park. The lethal removal is being done via helicopter.
The decision for a lethal removal comes after the Wyoming Game and Fish Department publicly disagreed with the decision to execute the mountain goats by aerial gunning. Many had argued for an opportunity to hunt the animal instead of killing them by helicopter.
More details about the decision for this process can be found here.
