Glenda Belle Steinhoff
Glenda Belle Steinhoff, 81, of Pueblo West, CO., formerly of Riverton, passed away surrounded by loved ones on February 28, 2018.
Glenda was born in Zion, Illinois on September 24, 1936 to Glenn and Peggy Cook. Glenda married the love of her life, Dennis Steinhoff in 1952 in Ft. Collins, CO.
In 1962, Glenda and her family moved to Livermore, CO where Glenda embarked on a new ranching adventure. Glenda especially loved the spring-time brandings—this was a time when Glenda could share her love for cooking and entertaining as well as celebrate the end of the stressful calving season. Glenda loved to prepare delicious meals and set a beautiful table. Everyone knew when they were invited to Glenda’s, for dinner, they were in for something delightful.
In 1972 Glenda and the Steinhoff’s moved to the Natural Bridge Ranch in Douglas, WY.
While in Douglas, Glenda decided she wanted to learn to fly so she earned her pilot’s license. There, she also became a member of the Wyoming Stock Growers.
Glenda and Denny moved to Riverton, WY in 1986, where Glenda owned and operated the, Shoe Connection, shoe store. The Shoe Connection gave Glenda another opportunity for being creative with displays and working with new and different people. While in Riverton, Glenda also obtained her Realtor license and worked for Wind River Realty.
Glenda was a superb gardener of tomatoes, squash, flowers, beans ,but most especially, Orchids. Glenda loved the Rocky Mountains, wild animals, birds, beauty of the wilderness, catching a trout and her dogs. Glenda had a sense of style and always dressed for whatever the occasion was. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. Glenda shared her appreciation of life and opportunities with her family. She was an example of what can be achieved through hard work, perseverance and personal choices.
Glenda is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Peggy Cook; sister, Debra Gardner and two infant brothers. Glenda is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Steinhoff; children, Christy (Jim) Bradley, Wellington, CO, Jim (Wanda) Steinhoff,Riverton, WY, and Rae Lynn (Alex) DeBoer, Port St. Lucie, FL.; sisters, Janet Hackleman, Riverton, WY, Shari Hancock, Prescott, AZ, Jane Baldwin, Laramie, WY; grandchildren Jennifer (Gerald) Oldland, Bennett, CO, Dennis DeBoer, Sydney, Australia, Michelle (Jerrad) Anderson, Riverton, WY, Austin DeBoer, Port St. Lucie, FL, Kimberly Steinhoff, Riverton, WY, and James Steinhoff of Riverton, WY; one great granddaughter, Addisyn Anderson, Riverton, WY.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Monday, March 5, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at the Pueblo West Funeral Home in Pueblo West, CO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local animal shelter in honor of Glenda.
