    Gillette College and Sheridan College both cut funding for athletic programs

    Multiple reports indicate that both Sheridan Community College and Gillette Community College have cut funding for all of their athletic programs.

    Sheridan Media announced Thursday that the cuts included the firing of Athletic Director Rich Hall. The Gillette College men’s basketball team posted the following information via social media,

    Today the decision was made to cut funding for all athletics at Gillette College. We’d like to thank the community for all of their support over the last 11 years. Shout out to @CoachShawnNeary for leading this program to a record of 268-90 (.750). One last time… #GoHorns

    Gillette College participated in men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, and rodeo.

    Sheridan College participated in women’s and men’s basketball, women’s and men’s soccer, volleyball, and rodeo.
