    Gerald “Jerry” Sage Jr.

    Gerald “Jerry” Sage Jr., age 58 of Ethete, Wyoming took his journey home following a lengthy illness on Saturday, February 9th, 2019 at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming.

    Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 14th, 2019 at 10:00 AM, at Blue Sky Hall, Ethete, Wyoming.

    A prayer service will be held Wednesday, February 13th, 2019 at 7:00 PM at Blue Sky Hall, Ethete, Wyoming with a wake to follow at his residence located at 436 Ethete Rd., Ethete, Wyoming.

    Jerry was born on December 28th, 1960 to Gerald “Jerry” Sage Sr. and Naomi Marie Glick-Sage in Lander Wyoming.

    Jerry was a lifelong resident of the Wind River Indian Reservation. Jerry attended schools at Mill Creek Elementary in Ethete, Wyoming, Wyoming Indian High School in Ethete, Wyoming and the American Indian Art Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

    Jerry was a very talented artist all of his life. Jerry’s artwork is displayed at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. and at the Wyoming State Museum in Cheyenne, Wyoming. His artwork was also commissioned by an art collector to display at Arapaho Parfleche in a museum located in Germany.

    Jerry was very enthusiastic about the Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone tribal languages, cultures and histories. Jerry was recently hired as the Cultural Facilitator at the Arapahoe Charter High School in Arapahoe, Wyoming. Jerry had great compassion for animals, rescuing as many as he could and nursing them back to health.

    Jerry was preceded in death by his ceremonial grandfather Jerry Smith. His parents Gerald “Jerry” Sage Sr. and Naomi Sage. Grandparents, Merl and Mary Ester. Joseph and Hazel Sage. Uncles, Joseph Sage Jr. and Allison Sage. Aunts, Vernita Sage, Roaslie LeBeau and Veeda Sage. Brother, Ira Whiteplume. Sister, Arlene Shavehead.

    Jerry is survived by his wife, Annie Goggles-Sage. His children, Renee Sage, Brooke Betancourt, Lamont Brown, James Moss, Eugene Coulston, Christine Perry, Janelle Denny, Nateland Denny and Soloman Brown. Brothers, Faron Y. Sage, Tony Brown, Melvin Goggles and Peter Duncombe. Sisters, Celeste E. Sage and Arnella Oldman. Aunts, Edith Griswald, Mary Jane Gregio, Joetta Armour, Smyrna Sage Winn, Velina Sage Quiver and Arydenne Sage. Uncles, Merl Glick, Byron Sage and William Sage. Nephews, Damon W. Sage, Thor Sage, Yoda Sage and John Duncombe. Grandchildren, Janessa Whiteplume, Arianna LeBeau, Little Wind LeBeau, Karmen Denny, Novalee E. Guina, Alfred RedWillow III, Anthony RedWillow, Ariel RedWillow, Socorro RedWillow, Enrique RedWillow, Jose Betancourt and other precious grandchildren.
