Gannett Peak Elementary teacher recognized in Cheyenne as ‘VFW Teacher of the Year’

    (Cheyenne, WY) – Toni Hudson, a 2nd-grade teacher at Gannett Peak Elementary, was chosen as the Wyoming State winner of the VFW Teacher of the Year and was recently recognized at the VFW convention in Cheyenne.

    “I am so humbled!!” Toni shared with County 10 about receiving the award. “Of course trying to speak I teared up that they even considered me for this honor. What an amazing award to get. I know my family that are veterans are all looking down so proud and that is an amazing feeling to know that hopefully I am making them proud. These veterans are amazing and I am so blessed!!!”

    Three teachers received the VFW Teacher Award: the junior high teacher is from Afton, his name is Scott Milne, and the high school teacher is from Cheyenne, his name is Bryce Strampe.


    Now, Toni’s application will go on to the National level.
