Frontier Ambulance to hold EMR/EMT Basic Courses

Frontier Ambulance’s training department will be holding an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course on Friday, April 15, 2022, at the Wind River Hotel & Casino.

The free five-week course will be held three evenings a week and is targeted to be accessible to the Wind River Reservation and to the healthcare and public safety agencies that serve the reservation. However, the course is open to the public and additional classes will be held throughout Fremont County in 2022.

Frontier Ambulance held its first EMR class in Dubois last fall, and three participants completed the class. The National Registry EMR Certification curriculum trains students to provide lifesaving interventions while awaiting EMS response and to assist higher-level personnel at the scene and during transport

No previous EMS experience is required, and the training classes are free and open to the community.

    Summer EMT-Basic Courses

Frontier Ambulance is also planning to launch its first EMT-Basic Course in early summer. The course will be free to those who are selected for the 8-10 week accelerated EMT class. Those that graduate from the class and pass the National Registry EMT exam will be immediately eligible to work on an ambulance with Frontier Ambulance or with any other EMS agency in the state of Wyoming.

More information will be posted on the Frontier Ambulance website. Interested individuals can sign up on our website to be added to an email list to receive a direct notification when dates for new training courses are set.
