Meet Amillia Faith Hood… her friends call her “Millie.”
Millie is a lively little girl who will be turning three next month. Her grandma, Diane Hood, has been battling kidney cancer (now stage 4 renal cell carcinoma) for the last 2 1/2 years. This summer, the Hood family received some more heartbreaking news. Their bright-eyed baby was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a rare but common bone cancer found in children. Currently, Millie is undergoing chemotherapy down in Denver. Her treatments are expected to continue for the next nine months.
County 10 is receiving this report from the concerned friends at Profiles Hair Design. They first heard the sad news from their client and friend, Diane (Millie’s grandma), which has prompted them to go into full fundraising mode to support the Hood family.

“She [Diane] is a client and friend of all of ours at the salon,” Lisa Leasure, Profiles Hair Design shared with County 10. “She is the most giving person we know and the most selfless. She just wants her granddaughter to get all the help she needs.”
The Hood’s will need some quick money while they are staying in Denver during Millie’s treatments. For some quick cash to help them out, Profiles Hair Design will be hosting a Hot Dog Sale on August 13th.
For just $5, Millie’s cousins, Zoriah and Zabby, will be serving a hot dog, chips, soda, and a cookie. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Hood family. In addition, the gals at Profiles have each pledged to donate 50% of their sales on August 13th to the family.
This is just the first round of fundraising they will be doing for Millie. On October 5th, Profiles will be putting on a Spaghetti Benefit Dinner at the Elks for the family. Over the next couple of months, they will be accepting silent auction donations at the salon.
To show your support for Millie and family, grab lunch at Profiles Hair Design, located at 522 N Federal Blvd, Riverton, WY on August 13th, beginning 11 am.
