(Casper, WY) – United States Attorney Bob Murray announced today that Xavier Guina, 25, of Fort Washakie, pled guilty to assault by strangulation and suffocation on March
29th, 2022, before United States District Court Chief Judge Scott W. Skavdahl, according to a release issued by the Department of Justice.
Sentencing has been set for June 17th, 2022.
Guina faces up to 10 years imprisonment, up to a $250,000 fine, three years of supervised release and a $100 special assessment.
A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
This crime is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with assistance from the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
