Fremont County saw an unemployment rate decrease from 8.5% in May to 7.8% in June, according to the Research & Planning section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services report released today, July 21st.
Fremont County is slightly above the statewide unemployment rate of 7.6% for June which fell from 8.8% in May. The statewide county breakdown provided in the report can be reviewed below.

“This decrease in unemployment suggests that Wyoming’s economy continues to recover from the sharp contraction seen in April,” the report says. “It appears that the lifting of some COVID-19 pandemic restrictions and the reopening of businesses have resulted in many individuals returning to work. While still elevated, Wyoming’s unemployment rate was significantly lower than the U.S. rate of 11.1%.”
