Fremont County School District #1 extends closure indefinitely

Fremont County School District #1 shared the following message:

As we work our way through this pandemic, Fremont #1 personnel continue to collaborate with the Wyoming Department of Education, our local and state public health officials, and other entities to gather up-to-date information to provide parents and staff. We hope you find this information helpful and we welcome any feedback you have.

With information from the Governor, WDE and Fremont County Public Health Officer Brian Gee, FCSD #1 administration has determined that at this time a return to school on April 6 is not feasible or in the best interest of the health of our students and the community at large.

As you are aware, administration and staff at each school are currently engaged in providing education through several methods. The Wyoming Department of Education has released rules regarding distance learning, providing districts guidance on how to best proceed with a distance learning plan. The district will develop and adopt a distance learning plan that will carry us through the remainder of the closure, however long it may last.

If you’re still considering an upcoming trip, the CDC keeps a checklist of things to consider before traveling.
