(Riverton, WY) – Fremont County School Board #25 held a graduation ceremony at the Tuesday night board meeting for Frontier Academy graduates Madyson Grace Hunsberger, Lyndie Jo Wadley and Sienna Nyssa Oldman.
Before the presentation of diplomas, FCSD Superintendent Joanne Andre-Flanagan addressed the graduates:
“We’re very proud of you, being here tonight—very proud of your ability to overcome and to stick with this. Every time we have a graduation the kids stand up and they thank the school board and the district for providing Frontier as an opportunity, and I always say, we can only provide the opportunity; you have to take advantage of it, and you did and you’re here and we’re proud of you.
Everybody has a different path, and it’s not a right or a wrong, it’s just a path. We’re just happy that your path brought you here, and we’re happy that your path is taking you to your next adventure. I hope you understand now that, even though there are problems in life, there’s bumps in the road, there’s ups and downs—and that’s true for everybody who’s in this room—that you now know that you can do it. You can get past those, and you also know that you don’t have to do it alone. Just look at the people around you and look at the graduates sitting on either side. You’re not by yourself on any of the journey unless you choose to be, so hopefully, you’ll never choose that and that you’ll always take advantage of the people around you who can help you over those bumps.”
Presenting the diplomas was Chairperson Lynette Jeffres.
