Fremont County MOVE now open for applications

(Fremont County, WY) – Back in February, the Fremont County Commissioners chose members for the ½ cent Economic Development Tax Committee, now known as Fremont County Making Opportunity for a Viable Economy (MOVE).

The objective of MOVE is to oversee the ½ cent sales tax being used to fund countywide transportation services and economic development projects, which was passed by Fremont County voters during the 2020 Primary Election.

    The notice reads as follows:

The goal of Fremont County’s ½ cent Program is to reinvest one-half cent sales tax funds back into the Fremont County economy, by providing funding programs to its businesses. Fremont County’s businesses are its lifeblood, and it is vital that the economic development sales tax is reinvested to continue growth and prosperity.

MOVE chairman Brett Berg told County 10 that any businesses which bring revenue to the county are eligible to apply, and he highly recommends that businesses take full advantage of the program.

Berg also stated that as of right now, there haven’t been any applications submitted, but he stresses to do so early since the committee is hoping to start approving grants by August.
