    Fremont County man facing five charges after domestic assault and intentionally ramming a vehicle into another

    All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    Dennis Buffalo, 42, of Fremont County is facing one count of Domestic Violence Battery – 3rd or Subsequent, one count of Strangulation of a Household Member, one count of Felonious Restraint, one count of Property Defacement, and one count of Solicitation of an Accessory After The Fact.

    Due to felonies in 2013 and earlier in 2020, a “Habitual Criminal Enhancement” may also be applied to his charges.

    On February 6, 2020 the Fremont County Sheriff’s office were dispatched to a residence near Lander for a domestic disturbance. A female reported to dispatchers that she had been, “punched in the nose” by Buffalo.

    Sheriff’s found the female with a bloody nose and facial swelling. She advised them that she had been in an argument with Dennis earlier that day and that Buffalo proceeded to, “put her in a choke hold and punch her with closed fists.”

    She continued that after the assault, she walked out of the residence to her vehicle and locked the doors. Court documents show that Buffalo began, “pounding on the car windows.” At this point, the victim attempted to leave, but her car became stuck in the snow. Documents show that while her vehicle was stuck, “Buffalo got into another vehicle and intentionally drove the vehicle into (victim’s). An estimate of $1,000 worth of damage was observed to the victim’s vehicle.

    According to documents, the female victim required surgery for her injuries sustained during the assault.

    Buffalo was arrested by Fremont County Sheriff’s Deputies. His preliminary court hearing was waived and the matter is transferred to District Court for arraignment at a later date.

    If convicted, Domestic Violence Battery – 3rd or Subsequent is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Strangulation of a Household Member is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Felonious Restraint is punishable by up to 5 years in prison. Property Defacement is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. Solicitation of An Accessory After The Fact is punishable by up to 3 years in prison and a fine of up to $3,000.
