All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
Francis Behan, born in 2000, of Fremont County is facing one count of Aggravated Assault and Battery.
On Thursday, July 9th the Riverton Police Department were dispatched to the 900 block of South Federal Boulevard in Riverton for a report of a stabbing. After arriving on scene, RPD officers located a 24-year-old male lying on his back on the sidewalk, holding his abdomen. Court documents show that the 24-year-old sustained an approximate 3-inch laceration.
A witness with the victim told authorities that the he, the victim, and Behan were playing pool and having drinks at a nearby bar. The witness described that Behan had been asked by staff members to leave the establishment. When the witness left the bar, he discovered that Behan had stabbed the victim outside of the bar.
A short time later Behan was located on foot in the 500 block of South Federal Boulevard. Fremont County Sheriff’s assisted the Riverton Police Department with the arrest.
Aggravated Assault and Battery is a felony, punishable by imprisonment of up to 10 years.
