Fremont County Library Foundation adds two new members
(Lander, Wyo.) – The Fremont County Library Foundation has added two new members to its board of directors. Attending their first meeting this past week were Roz Abel of Dubois and Cody Beers of Riverton.
Abel works for the Dubois-Crowheart Conservation District and formerly was involved organizing horseback vacations with Equitours for several decades. She said she is an enthusiastic user of the county libraries. She’s lived in the state for 35 years.
Beers is the Public Relations Specialist at the Wyoming Department of Transportation-District 5 based in Riverton and another active library user. Beers is also a play-by-play sportscaster for the Wind River Radio Network. A Wyoming native, he formerly worked for Wyoming Wildlife Magazine at the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and is a former editor of The Ranger, among many other activities.
The meeting was also the reorganizational meeting of the board. Elected to replace outgoing board member John Angst as President is Ernie Over of Midvale. Gene Dehnert of Lander, Barbara Amadio of Lander, and Alex Wolfer of Riverton were re-elected, respectively, as Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Board members include Maggie Ness, Barbara Oakleaf, Perry Kaufman, Mary Wendel, and Karlee Zack. County Library Director Janette McMahon is an ex-officio member of the board.
The Fremont County Library Foundation should not be confused with the county’s library board. The Foundation receives contributions and manages investment funds to support the county library system for projects or events not included in the library’s county budget.
