In anticipation of the Wyoming State Legislature’s 2022 Budget Session, which will convene in Cheyenne in February, the Lander, Riverton, and Dubois Chambers of Commerce are co-hosting a Legislative Session Preview Luncheon on Friday the 14th of January at the Lander Community & Convention Center.
Fremont County’s six state legislators have agreed to participate in the luncheon, during which they will highlight their interim legislative activities as well as share what issues they expect the entire Legislature will address come February. Redistricting has been a top interim issue, which will be finalized during session, and multiple tax increase proposals also will be considered. A general Q&A will follow legislators’ individual comments.
“I’m excited to be working with my counterparts — Janet (Winslow) in Riverton and Jennifer (Marshall Weydeveld ) in Dubois — on this luncheon,” said Owen Sweeney, Executive Director of the Lander Chamber of Commerce. “We want to give our members and the public the opportunity to hear all of Fremont County’s together in the same room and also build relationships among the county-wide business community. More and more of our members have locations in more than just one Fremont County municipality, and we think it’s time to begin partnering on some issues with a county-wide mindset.”
