Free meals are back for all FCSD #1 students through December

Starting September 8th through December 31st, school breakfasts and lunches will be free for all Fremont County School District #1 students.

The District announced today they were approved by the USDA for the Free Meal Waiver through the end of the year.

“We are still encouraging families to please fill out the Free & Reduced Priced Meal Benefit Application since the Free Meal waiver is only good until Dec. 31, 2020,” FCSD #1 Food Service Director Denise Kinney shared.

The waiver does not cover ala carte or extra items. They must be paid for at the time of purchase.

Also, all current account balances must be paid as soon as possible. If you have questions about your student’s account please call Denise at (307) 335-0411.

In addition to free breakfasts and lunches for students, starting September 14th, a curbside meal pick-up for children 0-18 years of age will be available at 863 Sweetwater St., Lander, the FCSD#1 Administration Building.

These meals will be distributed on Mondays and Thursdays from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm.

Monday meals will have 3 days’ worth of meals and on Thursday there will be 4 days’ worth of meals each week. NO SERVICE OVER HOLIDAYS BREAKS.

Folks are asked to remain in their vehicle at this site as it will be a drive-up service. Pull into the Lander swimming pool parking lot entrance located on South 9th Street and follow the signs to pick up free meals.
