Rory Tendore of Fort Washakie was selected in January as the FBI Director’s Community Leadership award representative. A special ceremony was held on January 16th at the Shoshone Rose Casino to honor Tendore.

Rory had the opportunity to receive her award in person at the FBI headquarters in Washington D.C. this month.

The award is presented annually to one recipient in each of the 56 FBI field offices to recognize citizens that make communities a safer place.

Tendore is the Eastern Shoshone Department of Juvenile Services Director.

“I do my job each day knowing that our clients have unmet needs within our communities and I am grateful for the ability to show up each day with the support of not only my immediate family but my extended relatives who believe in the work and remind me to have the best interest of our children at heart,” said Tendore after accepting her award in January.
