The NC State men’s golf team moved up the leaderboard every round, ultimately finishing in a tie for eighth place at the Puerto Rico Classic held at the Rio Mar Country Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
Georgia Tech won the event by two shots over Oklahoma with Georgia finishing in third.
Easton Paxton concluded his best tournament of the 2019-20 season on Tuesday, finishing in a tie for 21st place at three-under par for the tournament. Paxton’s score and place were both season bests for the NC State junior.
Graduate student Brett McLamb finished the tournament, one shot back of Paxton in 24th place. McLamb shot a 72 on Sunday and matching one-under par 71s on Monday and Tuesday.
Benjamin Shipp climbed the leaderboard every round, finishing the tournament at one-over par in 37th place.
Christian Salzer was next for the Pack in a tie for 47th place at five-over par for the tournament.
Freshman Carter Graf rounds out the NC State lineup in a tie for 71st place.
The Pack returns to action Monday, March 9 when it begins play at the General Hackler Championship in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
