Former Riverton resident and RHS alumni, Kevin Adams, took top honors this week at the 50th annual Pyrotechnics Guild International.

The guild was held in Gillette and featured competitors and pyrotechnicians from all across the world. Adams took first place in the category, “Unlimited Class C Display.” This was Kevin’s 4th time at the PGI, and his 3rd time competing in class C. He had placed second in the competition two years ago.

The theme of his display was based on ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and lasted 5 minutes.

The Spirit of ’76 captured an interview and Kevin’s fireworks display on video! County 10 hopes to have more with Kevin soon, but we wanted you to catch this awesome display right away!

Also at the guild, pyro-fanatics can check out the world’s largest firework, known as the “Super Nuke.” Last year the PGI lit a super nuke, you can see what it looks like in the video below!
